The Sanibel-Captiva Optimist Club will host its 11th annual wine and food festival, “Sanibel Uncorked,” on March 3 from 1 to 5 p.m. at Lily & Company, at 520 Tarpon Bay Road, Sanibel.
There will be free valet parking as usual.
Distributors of fine wines will have tasting stations to savor and compare the selections; craft beers will also be available. The provision and selection of wines and beers is being arranged by Calli Johnson, with Bailey’s General Store.
In addition, a number of local chefs will demonstrate methods for preparing some of their favorite dishes – with a taste for attendees. Guests will also be served hors d’oeuvres arranged by Chef Karl Hamme, with the Sanibel Catering Company by Bailey’s.
A silent auction with prizes will accompany the tastings. Items such as gourmet wines, jewelry, art work, hotel and golf packages, and sports outings will be offered. Most notable may be an opportunity to bid on dinners prepared and served in your home by several of the participating chefs.
A 50/50 raffle will also be available.
Tickets are a $30 donation each or a $25 donation for designated drivers. They will be available at Bailey’s, Sanibel-Captiva Community Bank, Sanibel Cafe, at the door and from members of the club.
Each attendees will receive an engraved, commemorative wine glass.
Corporate and individual sponsorships are still available.
The club is also seeking items and services to be donated for the auction.
